Why it matters

Why a qualified electrician matters for UPS installation

Legal requirement

In South Africa, installing a UPS into an electrical distribution board constitutes electrical work under SANS 10142-1 and the OHS Act. This work must be performed by a qualified, registered electrician. An IT technician is not legally qualified to do this — and installations by unqualified persons may void your insurance and create liability under the OHS Act. Through our partner RCE Electric, we provide the complete solution — correctly sized, legally installed, COC issued.

A 2,000VA UPS on a typical single server provides 20–40 minutes runtime — enough for a clean shutdown. With cloud backup and call divert configured, your business continues operating throughout.
